Hop Devil:
2" Heavy duty webbing from Reef Scuba.
I've had the same webbing on my Hammerhead plate for five years with no signs of wear at all. I chuckle everytime I read all the BS about having to replace webbing due to backplate wear. Marketing induced paranoia!
Interesting ... before switching to DSS plates I would be changing my webbing about every 100 to 150 dives due to the backplate slots chewing through the edges of the webbing. Paranoia had nothing to do with it.

I've ever looked at had minor wear at the plate edges, however, I've not seen any that would warrant changing the webbing.

How far did the plate saw into yours before you considered it a safety issue?

On mine, after the initial wear occurred (which happened rather quickly btw), it hasn't progressed any further.

Reef Scuba also for me but I have ordered from ahh.biz as well and strapworks.com has more colors (burgundy, lilac) in 2 inch webbing.

Far enough to fray ... a quarter to a half-inch or so on either side of the webbing ... before I considered changing it.

Got the Mil Spec from Dive Rot express. Rocks.

Ken

Ken, I use the 2" soft webbing, also from Diverriteexpress. Just wondering what the difference is with the mil-spec? I found the standard webbing too stiff for my liking.

I have used the standard Diverite webbing no problem.
If I did it again I would buy it from Tobin at Deep Sea Supply- rock in product.

However right know I made my own. I purchased a spool of seatbelt material and pulled it through tubular webbing. Sealed the ends and I am done. Very soft and no problems to date.

have you been happy with the quality oh the webbing from strapworks? Which option did you get, nylon or polypro? I'd like some color, so I've been considering these guys...
