I've heard of them and seen them online. Some people on SB claim to have used them and liked them. I don't see the point, for various reasons.

I was wondering if anyone has heard of or used this system. Looks interesting.

One of the guys on our boat in Roatan was using one. It looks a little weird (the flat backplate, that is), but he claims it's comfortable and stable. The harness and wing look to be well-built (from what I could tell by just looking it over).

Keep in mind that this backplate is for single-tank configurations only. If you're thinking about someday using it for doubles, it's not the setup you want. Otherwise, seems like a viable choice.

Well they only sell on eBay and their store has been closed :11:
Going through their website, and the air cells . . . Isn't that a Dive Rite Travel wing?

They don't sell the product during the off-season. Their sale starts from June.

Yep, I have and use their flat plate for single tank diving. I am quite pleased with it.

It is, as has been stated, only appropriate for single tank diving. In my case when I dive doubles I use a lightweight plate to reduce my underwater weight. I would do this even if I had a traditional (both shape and stainless steel) plate for my single tank diving.

I use a single piece Hogarthian harness, not the one from JetHarness. I also use a DiveRite Venture wing, not the wing from JetHarness. I did order my plate with a JetHarness wing, but returned it because I was not completely happy with the wing. The wing is very much like the wing in the earlier post, but the DiveRite version will not work well with any backplate. I wanted the lower dump on the left not the right, and I liked the overall shape and construction of the Venture wing, so I switched.

The plate holds a tank very securely without an STA. The tank is extremely close to your back keeping you center of gravity nice and close to your body. The only fault I find with the flat plate design when compared to a traditional bent shape is the tank is so close that you really need to make sure that the tank is vertically positioned so the valve misses your head. In my case with my Faber LP95 steel tank the tank position that places the valve and regualtor low enough to miss the back of my head places the entire rig so my trim in the water is perfectly horizontal. So in my case the flat shape is completely positive, with no negative side effects.

The plate packs well in luggage when I travel. If you are thinking about getting one rest assured that I am completely happy with mine.

Air Cell
We use the very same manufacturer that makes many big name BCD's (such as OMS, DUI, OxyCheq, and Zeagle) to build our Air Cell. Our unique design specifies the best materials and workmanship available.
The only difference is that ours costs less, because there are no middlemen, and no retail price hike."
