I am certainly no wing design expert, but from what I have seen, a "perfect fit" bladder is not the way wings are being designed. I have had a two other wings before, a DSS and a HOG, they both have bladder size bigger then shell, more or less like Halcyon's.
I could be wrong, but my guess is that if the fit is perfect, the stress on RF wedding will be too much if the wing is fully inflated. It may shorten bladder's life. So everyone is using the shell to limited the size/life so RF weddling will not be stressed. To me, DSS, HOG and Halcyon are pretty reasonable. The amount of over size looks small, and probably won't trap air. The Oxy on the other hand, with the kind of fold inside the shell, air trapping is inevitable.
I totally agree they did this to reduce manufacture logistics at the cost of performance. And I think they got aways with it because most people probably don't have multiple wings of the same type. And even if some do, they don't do back to back comparison.
