aka the "vomit comet". The diesel fumes make my students puke even in calm weather. Also the captain is not very particular about the weather she takes you out in. Last time out with them (and it will be the last) I felt I was out and out lied to. They only want your money and are not willing to go the extra mile (or inch).

I'll plan on using the Rampage/Starfish next weekend.

I had a nice, frustrating time practicing in the pool. My fins suck for backing up, and if I back up too much I hit a skimmer's flow.

Bah.

I wish I was down south in the water!

We had two nice dives.

When we went in the water for the first one it was overcast and a little bit choppy. When we surfaced it was bright, sunny, and the seas were glassy - it looked like two different days.

Slow today for DCI - only one boat out (Deeper) and only eight divers on it, including FLL Diver (Marc) and his daughter Melissa (what a nice Father's Day!).

Went to Delray Ledges first and Boynton ledges second.

Saw a turtle, stingray, pretty good size nurse shark, and a HUGE crab sharing a hole with a lobster!

Plan on being back down there on Saturday.

It was a great day for diving and we got to meet and dive with Steve, his wife Leslie and brother Mark.

I had not dove in Boyton Beach before, usually I stay further south. But both those reef sites were very nice.

DCI's Captain Leo and DM Andrew on the Deeper were great -very professional and friendly. You could also tell it was an upscale charter company. Instead of the usual animal or vanilla alphabet cookies, they served Oreos. :D I'll definately be using them again.

Steve nailed how the day went, though I have to add the curent on the second dive was pretty strong. Whoever had the flag had to fight from being dragged away. At one point Melissa was finning furiously into the current just to stay still.

And I got to try my new camera housing today. Mixed results, I'll still have to take it a few more time to play with settings. But I did get this picture of big Loggerhead on the first dive.

My daughter seems to have this ability to attract turtles and they swim right up to her. Here she is with the Loggerhead today.
