Hi all:

I'm trying to decide on BC vs BP (have read through all the threads debating the value of each). One factor that I'd like to understand is the relative bouyancy of the Zeagle Ranger vs. the Concept II. I'm a big guy, so I'd like to understand which BC has the least amount of bouyancy. Then, once I know the best of those two, compare it with the BP options.

My Ranger is about +3lbs in FW. This was measured after a dive with as much air as was possible out of it and nothing on the BC. The measurement tech was to add 1 lb weights to it until it sunk while standing in shallow water. It's a guess but I suspect the Concept is somewhat less but not enough to worry about. In either case, the additional bouyancy of either BC is not that much. Your diving style and preferences are more important than a couple of pounds of bouyancy. By the way, the Ranger weighs 8 lbs dry.

Thanks herman, that's a solid datapoint that I can use.

Concept II has a very adjustable design feature. It is more than capable of supporting a big guy. So is the Escape. A Ranger will have no problem either. Try them both or all three before you buy and see what you like best
