Some will set up overnight camping starting around 10am Saturday, while I'm checking into my Roswell hotel. :D You can plan either way if you want to spend the night, but rooms are becoming scarce for that night for some reason - maybe an Alien convention? Anyway, if you want help booking a room, let me know ASAP!!

And many are planning on cooking out all meals, while I'll plan on brunch in town, then joining in the cookout that evening. We'll start diving after lunch - in the 90+ foot deep "bottomless" lake - and knowing this bunch, play some other games between dives that will continue on into the night. The last dive will be Sunday morning.

The water will be in the high 50s, I think, maybe 50 at the springs? :frosty: I'm brining my 7 mil suit, neoprene beanie, gloves, and boots, plus a 5 gallon insulated jug of warm water for down the back pours before each dive. I guess we'll need to heat replacement water on the campfire, as this does help, and I wouldn't want to deny anyone. Good training for California dives!! :jump013:

South West Aqau Sports, the newest dive shop in Lubbock TX is sponsoring this gathering. I am not assocaited with the shop, or even a member of their dive club, but we're all welcome to participate in the dives. The shop will need to know in advance if you'll need tanks and weights, but if you're bringing your own, they'll be selling air fills. I'll have the rates if you want to PM me, or you can call Rachelle at the store: 806-780-2782, Tuesdays thru Saturdays.

Will this be as much fun as diving the ocean? No! Will it be more fun than mowing the grass at home? You bet! So, if you're within driving distance, why not plan on it, and let me know what I can do to help...?

In case you don't already know, the girlfriend pointed out that May 15 is New Mexico Military Institutes graduation and a notoriously hard time to find a hotel in the Roswell area.

She also wanted to throw in a suggestion of visiting the Carlsbad caverns...

Yep, I think I booked the last 3 rooms in town, 2 of which I will turn back in a week if no one asks.

Can you come, or - would your girlfriend like to...? :D

I appreciate the invitation, but alas we live in Reno, NV and she's graduating (here) that weekend.

Enjoy the trip!

Many are going to camp at the park, but I am currently holding reservations on 3 rooms in a town with no hotel rooms available.

I'm going to release 2 of these, unless someone wants them now...? :dazzler1:
