Best tool I have used....you can rent one from Home Depot for about $50 and it will make quick work of the paint. It's important to determine the right tip (will have several to choose from that vary the intensity of the spray) and the pace at which you move the sprayer. Start faster then slow down once you have it just right.

Matt, what psi is your washer? I tried a 2,200 psi from 2 inches away with the narrow beam nozzle and it didn't remove it from my boat.

I honestly don't recall the psi I used last. I am surprised you are having difficulty with 2200 psi. The narrowest beam usually comes out like a squirt gun (like a round spray). Try the next size up so the spray is a bit wider (yet still very thin). If I am not careful at a self-service car wash bay I can remove bottom paint. (Have used both Pettit paints and West Marine paints). Do you have ablative paint on your hull?

We have a 3000 psi washer but I didn't try that one. The glass is a little thin in some spots on this Belize special. :D I'm not sure what kind of paint it was they put on when it was new. But it's all oxidized now and comes off on my hand. Right now, as Wilma is brewing off shore of Belize, I'm in Indiana and the bottom is being sanded and re gel coated. Anyway I won't repaint it. It lives out of the water in a house on a trailer.

If the boat isn't left in the water, you don't need bottom paint.

I agree if you are not going to leave the boat in the water why reapply the bottom paint?

Many of these paints become ineffective if the boat is kept out of the water. Many of them are very heavy and with the price of gas why add the weight to the boat if it's not needed? Is there some other reason you feel you need to reapply the bottom paint?
