I am familiar with Capt. Pat & Capt. Jim who I will dive dive with the weekend of 8/5/06.Sat & Sun. I dive now off Long island /New Jersey wrecks and would like your descriptions of diving the harbor compared to further out. What about the dives there do you like best?

I don't know exactly where you're going, but you picked the right Captains and the right boat. If you're interested in wrecks, you won't find the 'hollywood' style artifical reefs around here. What you will find are debris fields of varying sizes and sometimes the metal machinery left from wooden vessels. You can also do some lobstering(if licensed) or scalloping in the Outer Harbor. Some of the better and shallower wrecks out there are the City of Salisbury & the Kiowa. The Romance is nice, too, but a bit deeper(80fsw). I don't know what your experience level is, but there are even deeper wrecks in the area.

Viz has been a bit crappy(12 feet or so) this year as oppossed to last year(20 feet). Have fun diving with Pat & Jim.
