Actually, most of the MA boats put in moorings rather than anchor (and anchoring isn't allowed in some areas, such as Stellwagen). Pete's right, though, you do have to be prepared to miss a good number of dives due to weather. Call can usually be made it the morning, so that beats a long drive and hotel, and even with poor conditions, you can often at least get on *something* (e.g. Poling).
 
When I say anchord I was including using a mooring. It is all the same, the boat is not free to chase a drifting diver till all other divers are out of the water.
