Someone gave me a couple AL80s long out of hydro, in quite nice cosmetic shape. Neither should be 6351 but they're of the vintage I may decide to dump one or both anyway. If I decide to scrap, anybody know any recycling places west of Boston that buy them? I googled around and couldn't find a a place.

(Unless someone is interested - 89 Catalina with a Catalina valve that seems in good shape, no air in the tank when I got it. 2/90 Luxfer with a mystery valve that is frozen and looks a little corroded onto the tank, not sure if there's air in it. I haven't tried to mess with either yet.)

The best recycling for those is to put them back into service. You should have no trouble finding takers.

They are both serviceable as far as the alloy is concerned. get them hydroed, repair or replace the bad valve, and keep them in service.

As far as salvage facilities, I just brought a bunch of failed tanks to Nichols salvage (978-388-4129) in amesbury, got $.60 per pound for the aluminum.
