Back to the original posted topic, I do feel the need to chime-in here:

As a full-time PADI MSDT with over 6,000 dives and hundreds of student certifications, I do think that there are "SOME" sites around Boracay that are very good; "top ten in the world"? maybe not--but that's typical travel magazine hyperbole, get over it!

I CAN say that the Camia wreck, and some of the Yapak sites are excellent--with over 25m (average) viz and great variety of marine life--even Crocodile Reef is teeming with healthy hard and soft corals and sponges. The Bali Hai Artificial reef project is also an interesting dive, I saw a nice juvenile turtle there 3 days ago! Granted I wouldn't take novice divers to some of these spots, but in terms of "quality dives" those were all very nice ones.

As somebody that has been teaching/diving/working in the Caribbean, Mexico,Hawaii, California, GBR, Thailand, Egypt, Vietnam and other places I think you guys are "spoiled for choice" in the Philippines....I can say that although Boracay may not have the "best" diving in the Country, there are FAR worse places!

I dive almost every day in Thailand (Phuket, Phi-Phi area, and Similans--which IS a TOP TEN destination!) and even around "touristy and commercialized" Boracay the waters were surprisingly clean and well-cared for. After reading some comments here I expected FAR worse!

So, I guess I can expect MUCH "better" in Malapascua, PG, and Panglao? Not to mention Busuanga/Coron?? ;)

Maybe the Philippines will become my "new paradise" destination...?:)
Only time will tell as I am early into my trip here. More later....

diving, yes, harley.... Cabilao (not Panglao) in Bohol earned great reviews lately.

but no... nothing beats the sands of Boracay.

We will have them....and much more. Interesting that you mention that too. Our facility will have 30 Deluxe Rooms (all western amenities) and 2 stand alone family Suites, Dive Shop, Restaurant, Sari-Sari, Laundry Service, Child Care, On-Site First Aid Station, SPA, 4 boats, 2 vans, 1 tricycle, Beach Bar, Reception Area, Outdoor Grills, and much more! It will be state of the art from stem to stern.

Will you guys have a kimchi fridge? I like my kimchi chilled...:mooner:

OK, I'll compromise... how about a monster karaoke machine with 200W speakers and stocked with songs that only go to up the 1980's...:maniac:

give him figures, pak.

a PPD dive-o-rama at BabyD's resort.... hey, wait, that's a nice idea... do we get discounts, babyD?
