Can one use booties with full foot fins? I like my full foot fins but not upon leaving the water and walking on shore.

I really don't think so, it's not in season. :D

Ok seriously, I don't think booties will fit in those fins. Thicker booties like 5 mil definately won't fit. But try it out at your LDS

I suppose you could try, but my guess would be even a 3 mil would bump you up a size or two in full-foot fins. Also, you won't get much out of regular booties as far as protection from rocks - you need something with a hard sole. I suppose if you were really married to the idea of full-footers, you could buy some hard soled booties and a pair of full-footers to fit over them. I think the extra wear and tear of putting them on over a pair of booties could wear them out sooner, but I've never tried so I don't know.

Many fins come in open heel and full foot styles. Maybe you can get the open heel version of you prefered full footers. I concur that booties and open heels are the safer more versatile solution.

I agree that if the booties and full foot respectively fit they won't work toether. You might get away with Kevlar socks.

if youre dead set on your full foot fins, just grab some $10.00 neoprene socks to go with it, its not the same level of protection/comfort/thickness as a full bootie, but its better than barefooting it across rocks...

Maybe ...but I think they'd be kinda mushy. Suggest you check out the Henderson Lycra Dive Socks. I have a pair and use them with my full foot fins. Enough to walk around in on the boat and offer protection to your feet and ankles while diving, without the thickness of a bootie.
