So yesterday a utilities crew working in the Puyallup River, just downstream from where I work, discovered a cache of artillery shells in the river bed. No clue as to how they got there or how long they've been there. But early this morning a DoD team was out investigating and decided the shells were too unstable to move.

So right now they're out there blowing them up ... kind've an early July 4th celebration.

Gives a whole new meaning to "the rockets red glare" ... :eyebrow:

this may be a good time to get a net and go get some fishing done!!

now how come you guys hadn't found them already?

Dang it! Do you know how long it took to stockpile those??? (JOKING)

I can imagine the shockwave when they do that.

Uh, uh ... you wouldn't want to eat any fish out of that river ...

Ummmm ... we weren't looking?

I wish I knew ... but the DoD guys wouldn't let us close enough to see. I can tell you what it felt like ... at least, I can say that the last time I felt a vibration that deep was when we had a good-sized earthquake a few years back.

It was "bone-deep" ...
