My point was to support dive businesses anywhere with a show of the support in the form of interest. Also, to be aware of flexible travel arrangements including any that allow free change/free cancellation. As Indah says, for Indonesia this may not be any time soon, so need to check terms and conditions of how far down the line you can change to. Then, when travel restrictions allow, can react swiftly.

A lot of uncertainty, but that is the way it is. Planning ahead is a way of preparing to be flexible.

We have almost daily case of infected persons arriving in HK even with the proof of "negative screening"!
NO such thing as absolute in real life!

HK immigration may have enough data by now to screen what type of COVID-19 test that those people should have (PCR or antigen) and from centained approved medical facilities as those false negative results being collected & documented. That information would be given to the airline boarding gate crew to deny boarding of the passengers with the unapproved (suspicious / fake) negative Covid-19 test certification. That’s how Costa Rica does currently.

In real life it is NOT as you had said!
This 'chinese virus' has long incubation period so even your genuine cert(up to the min when the passenger boarded the plane) does not mean that person is virus free.
There are so many cases that people under quarantine were tested +ve after several days.
In HK it is 21 days of quarantine in approved hotel. Passenger required to book the room FIRST!

Pulled the trigger and booked Raja Ampat for 21 Dec '21. It feels GREAT to book a trip!!

We chose the Solitude Adventurer because they allowed a 5% deposit (lots of things can happen between now and over a year from now). The "best estimates" of Dr. Francis Collins (head of NIH) and Dr. Fauci are for next winter (winter of 2021 - 2022) to be "normal". So we'll see.

Lots of LOBs are already booked, as many trips booked for 2020 were simply postponed until 2021.
Meanwhile we're doing our best to stay in shape (lost 25 lbs) and trying not to get to old, too fast.

Goodness. Who remembers 2021? I don't come on ScubaBoard regularly but some BOT or AI thing sent me this message. As far as I can determine, no trip was made in 2021 ut we did go on Solitude Adventurer in January 2024 and loved the boat and diving. Hey Chilly! How's your back? Mine is GREAT after I started doing Pilates with machines. Almost no pain, which is a HUUUUUGE difference from decades and decades of struggle.

That's wonderful for you Bill! My back is still very temperamental. Most of my pain is in my tailbone. According to the doc it is referred pain. I don't care whether it's had a referral or not! Hahaha. It can be painful to sit any length of time. I'm going to try some Tai Chi, in hopes of strengthening here and there!
