Hello!

Just letting everyone know that after all the research, planning, and reading....we've booked our flight and stay at Sunset Waters Curacao! (for 2 weeks in July!!!)

We're coming from Toronto, Canada...and have a one hour connecting flight in Miami,..hoping to make that connection. So,..we land in Miami 9:35am,...and the grab the next flight at 10:30am! I'm getting stressed out thinking about it!

Anyone have any advice for us? This will be our first time diving in Curacao...not sure what to expect. Is there anything we shouldn't miss out on? Tell me all the secrets!

Thanks!

Sunset Divers does a special afternoon run to Watamula that is well worth doing. The coral formations are amazing. If you have any special requests they are very accomodating.
Even the house reef has a lot to see--a pair of sea horses, stonefish, a small barracuda, Christmas tree worms in every color, shrimps and arrow crabs. We never saw any "charismatic megafauna" in Curacao, but lots and lots of interesting invertebrates and beautiful fish.

I'll be curious to find out how your outbound and inbound connections in Miami work out. We are planning on Curacao in October (before the direct charter flights start up again) and will be going through Miami. How about a posting after your trip on how the connections went - especially going back through Miami and US Customs?

We are off to Cozumel tomorow morning - I've been packed since Monday!

I am envious. I got OW certified there in March. Alice in wonderland was awesome. Regarding the flight.. You should have no problem going down.

If you have a sunday nite free go to moombas on the beach for happy hour and pay attention to the mass migration of people form bar to bar as happy hour expires at one and then starts at another. It is a blast and remeber it as you will see it all happen again in Miami,,

BECAUSE when returning through miami there is no bigger cluster !@#$% than the pre-customs baggage claim in Miami. Your bag will most likely NOT come out on the belt they tell you. (remember the mass migration of people well watch it unfold again but the people do not act nearly as polite as in Curacao) When it does eventually show up there will be a mile long line of people waiting to clear customs. But who cares you got all the memories of the reef to think about.
