Tamas Dude....

Any[/u] phone could handle a disconnection. Keep it dry and it is just like you turned it off.

<<SIGH>>

I realize that, but I also know that the phone received a call, obviously it went unanswered and died quite fast but the signal was strong enough for the phone to produce 3-4 clear rings and to register the missed call.

How it happened or how strong the signal (send or receive) had to be I am not sure, all I know that it happened and it was quite humorous and freaky at the same time.

<<sigh>>

<<Waterproof is as waterproof does>>

It is a simple thing...

Was the phone wet or dry?

Nomad:
Once my camera case flooded. It was the very first dive with my brand new camera...

Does that count?

YUP, THAT'S A BONE HEAD MOVE.. BUT ONLY IF YOU DID NOT PREFORME A PRECHECK OF THE HOUSING AND RINGS. OTHERWISE ITS JUST REALY BAD LUCK! SORRY...

I HAD MY BATTERY POD FLOOD ON MY STINGRAY HOUSING. I FELT MAJORLY BONE HEADED. SLIPPED AND FELL AT DIVE HOUSE IN COZ. HOUSING LOOKED OK BUT @ 12 FEET I KNEW OTHERWISE.....THAT WAS A $1500.00 SCHOOLING CHARGE.

Tamas:
...actually that happened to us once. We were diving with some dude who left his phone in his pocket by accident and never realized it, zipped up the dry suit and took the plunge. At around 10-15 feet something is beeping, everybody is looking around trying to figure out what it is (sorta like when you go to a seminar and a phone rings and you get 20-30 people checking their phones/pagers thinking it's theirs) ...well long story short, finished the 100+ foot dive and he called his wife on it afterwards.

GIVES NEW MEANING TO......CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW?...GOOD!

My kid left his cell phone in his pocket when he threw his pants into the washing machine. He found it after it came out of the dryer. Amazingly, and lucky for him, it still works.

What is the use of those plastic card cases, anyway? I carry room key cards in the water all the time and so far it has never bothered them. They are, after all, plastic. American money also fares well in water. It takes about an hour to dry in warm weather and spends just fine, wet or dry.

I almost met a similar fate. I started for the stairs and platform at the stern of an Aggressor when the captain stopped me and pointed to my housing with its $2400 digital cam inside. BONE HEAD ME---I closed the door, but didn't latch down. How he saw that was a miracle. Guess who got a big tip??
