Several countries have posted travel warnings regarding Venezuela. My politically savvy friend advises me that the current turmoil in Venezuela will have no impact on their very close neighbor Bonaire.

Any comments?

Bonaire has a lot of economic ties and some social ties to Venezuela, but doesn't seem to spill over into politics. We were just there and, aside from some concerns for families or loved ones in Venezuela, no one seemed particularly involved. I'd say your friend is correct.

By the way, Bonaire is part of the Netherland Antilles now, they handle their own internal affairs but still rely on the Dutch for military protection and foreign affairs.
