black durgon inn is a very small resort that should not be included in the conversation with all other resorts mentioned. sorry you couldn't dive there but its not at all relevant to this thread.

Thanks everyone! Great insights and options. We will keep the house reefs as an option. It sounds like we may do a combination of shore dives, boat dives, and house reef dock dives. Who knows? Maybe that will all be thrown out the window once we get there. We will definitely pick the brain of our dive guide for sure!

We've decided to dive with Harry at Tropical Divers. Anyone have insights on them? It's hard to find info on these boards about them, but I've found lots on Bonaire Talk. All great reviews. We like the fact that all of the guides are instructors and the fact that they are a smaller shop with small groups. The owner of the cottage we are staying in highly recommends them and they are close to where we are staying as well.

I used Tropical Divers a couple of years ago, no problems at all.......

I used Tropical Divers in Feb 2009, and liked the dive operation very much. Lots and lots of air and nitrox, never any shortage of tanks, very consistent nitrox fills. Harry and the staff were friendly and helpful. I only did two boat dives with them, small group, two tank dives. I'd use the shop every trip if I couldn't get a room and package at Carib Inn.
I bet you'll have a blast.
