Great info everyone, my wife and I area headed out on Saturday. Quick question do most places take Visa or should I take cash?

While many of the larger restaurants and most shops take Visa and other credit cards we try to start with a few hundred dollars cash and then use the ATM because the fees are high for establishments that take credit cards. Some places have a minimum amount that you can charge. Also, many of the "snacks" (small local restaurants) take only cash and not large US bills. Whenever you pay cash you can expect your change to be in guilders, the local currency.

. We went to Wannadive at Eden Beach and after getting our tags/paperwork we made the quick dive. We didn’t really understand the purpose of the dive since no one paid any attention to us gearing up, getting in, or getting out. We did the Saturday - Saturday trip and here were our impressions...

The reason for the dive is not that the facility will have someone testing you(maybe they should at times for some people) but for your benefit to get your buoyancy tuned in.Even for experienced Bonaire visitors it is a benefit to do this.Maybe you are using a new suit/bcd or have never dived on Bonaire before.Get the bugs worked out of buoyancy issues at the beach before taking off on a boat or going off on your own and then finding out that you need more lead,or regulator breaths wet/bcd leaks/inflator has steady leak.Problem can be fixed before on a boat or beach dive and then having to hold everyone up with issues.
