Puck:
Obviously you shouldn't have the door open and the a/c on, but if there was a motion detector, you could use a nice toilet paper streamer attached to the ceiling fan chain to create the necessary movement...er, um motion. Just a thought.

They're smarter than that, they use a combination I/R & Motion sensor. A stray cat or goat would work, although housekeeping might not be so thrilled with the idea.
