When is it?I've heard that's a pretty darn good itinerary. Are you going on the White Manta?

Typically there are 2 small boats operating. Each boat can fit up to 8 divers + 2 DMs. Each DM can lead up to 4 divers. They typically try to group the divers that have similar air consumption so the group can come up at about the same time or least not too far apart. Quite often since they have 2 small boats, if a pair of divers has come up sooner than the rest of the group & 2nd boat is also there waiting for the rest of the divers to come up, then 1st boat will go ahead & take the pair of divers back to the big boat. Most of the time we don't wait for long.
DM leading groups!! can you dive on your own as a buddy team?

Yes you can, but I would see & find half less fishes & critters that the DM would. One time he pointed me to a tiny cluster of brown dust. I took a picture to make him happy. It turned out to be a hairy shrimp & I would never see the dang Halimeda ghost pipefish (very rare) hiding amongst the Halimeda.

We walked freely through the downtown at noon and had no issues. We also took guided tours to Belize zoo, Barton Creek and Maya ruins in Xunantunich.

Today?

So, Aggressor comes through with flying colors and I am going boat riding after all.

Earl damaged the boat forcing cancellation of the 8/13/16 departure. aggressor immediately repaired whatever needed fixing and rescheduled me on the 8/24/16 departure.

I was a skeptic, but they got it done.

++ to them.

ETA: Darien was finest kind dealing with a stressed diver. She was nothing if not polite, kind, and efficient.

That's great news and I think that you may be better offer putting a little more time between Hurricane Earl and your visit. Hopefully the winds and rains will be finished and the vis cleared up. And with luck the weather gods will be kind.

But what about your airfare, were you able to rebook without paying big penalties?

I'm in Isla Mujeres now. The remnants of Earl still make poor visibility & rough sea. I brought 9 of dive buddies with me. The wave was bad enough to make one of my dive buddies fed the fish during surface interval. So I told him to get back in the water ASAP. We planned to swim with whalesharks today, but it was canceled due to bad weather. So, I'd wait a little bit longer if I were you.

Thanks KathyV.

I've been known to dive in a mudhole, so a little bad viz doesn't put me off too much.

I bought my delta ticket in Jan 2016 when I booked my trip. $6xx. When I rebooked it was $5xx ( I don't remember exact numbers). Net after $200 change fee and fare reduction was $68. Aggressor offered, but I figured they had done their part and I could stand $68.

Fort George raddisson Let me cx my hotel for 8/12 inside the penalty time, and rebook for 8/23 without penalty.

All in all the whole Cx/do-over involved minimum expense or hassle except for me wringing my hands, largely due to Darian (with an -ian not -ien I think) of aggressor travel.
