Cool american flavored chips. As a cool american, I can say that my flavor doesn't belong on a corn chip.

I am pretty sure you would get your butt kicked for even asking for that at many restaurants in Texas.

Even get the feeling that foreigners live in a different dimension? Like Bizarro world. That would explain these Bizarro Doritos.

Okay, we've got a lot to work with here.

a. thats is a pretty cool ad
b. the beer is the least bad thing for you in the ad
c. after several of the beers, the food there won't taste quite so horrible
d. if you go to bonaire and eat KFC, you have issues

When you are in Bonaire, you will notice that almost every little shop/store sells hard booze or beer. Meanwhile, back here in the "free market" of America, it will vary by state/county. Prohibitive licensing will be in place. In some places, only the government itself will sell hard liquor. We could learn a few things from a socialist south american island off the coast of a banana republic.

In case you aren't well traveled, that's how they advertise "motor oil" in some other english speaking places. Although I'm sure they sell the other stuff too....

I ate it their way complete with pickles and eggs. The bread was a fresh crusty french bread. It was amazing (and I am considered a picky eater). Just try the sandwiches their way.

Yeah. My wife, our friend & I all live in Kentucky. We went to Bonaire and spotted KFC. My response was something along the lines of 'Nuh-uh! We flew clear down here to a foreign country and I am not eating Kentucky Fried Chicken.'

Haven't eaten at the Subway, either. Not dissing the places, though. My wife isn't that big on fish. In Bonaire, of course, there's lot of fish at restaurants, and I'm like 'All fish, all the time!' Barracuda, Wahoo (scads of that), Snapper...good times!

Once when I was on a certain island, I asked a local guy where he eats:
"Subway, eat fresh mon".

Sometimes fast food _is_ local food.

We actually had some sandwiches from Subway in Bonaire one day when we were in the area around lunchtime. Being so remote, they have stock issues. The bin of lettuce was all wilted that I could see. They were out of several fountain drinks. The cold cuts themselves looked scant. They looked like they might run out of several sandwich meats shortly.

I make fun, but I'm not a huge snob or anything.

Subway's okay back home. Now, if they put a Quiznos in Bonaire, I might be tempted.

What we REALLY need here is a good American style Bakery, you know with things like great cookies, cakes, eclaires, etc. The breads here are great, but I would love a great US bakery... who knows, maybe my next career....I make a MEAN Key Lime Cheesecake, Walnut brownies and strawberry short cake, just to mention a few....
