Greetings all. I'm so happy to be posting a question about a near future dive trip to Bonaire. I was afraid I wasn't going to be able to go this fall, but its coming together.
I LOVE BONAIRE!!!!! Hope to be there 9-30 / 10-07.

My question; has anyone recently stayed at the Port Bonaire hotel? We are looking for a fully a/c'd unit and am looking at Den Laman and Port Bon. Port Bon. is abit less $$ but I was told the hotel had suffered from poor management and lack of upkeep but had recently been taken over by a new management group and things have repaired as necessary.

Can anyone share some info concerning Port bonaire?

Thx to all.

I have not heard anything either way on Port Bonaire. Den Lamen is new so they should be fine. If you don't mind being off the water and a small efficiency apt would do, drop Liz at Golden Reef Inn an email. She has some efficiency apts (small room with stove/fridge/table/TV/bed and a bathroom) that are completely ACed. Nothing fancy but clean, safe, ACed and a good price.

Thx all for your replies.

We stayed at Belmar last visit, in late Sept., and while we liked the property we got a top floor unit with the bedrms at roof level. It was so hot in the living rm and bathrm we sweat like pigs all week. Several members of our group had a real problem with that situation.

We'll get a fully a/c'd unit from now on.

Thx again for your time.

Herman,

Actually all of our units have full airco, with the exception of the townhouses. We upgrade the units in the one bedrooms so even though the split units are in the bedrooms, when you leave the bedroom door open it cools the whole apartment. We went from 5000 BTU to 9000 BTU. So far everyone that has kept the air on has had a nice cool apartment. Thanks!

Liz
