Well, just got back from Bonaire this weekend. 1st time out with an underwater camera setup, and these are just some of the results. I'll post a link to a website with the others once I set it up. Now, to save up the pennies for an external strobe! :D

All pics were taking with a Canon G2, Ikelite housing, built-in strobe. Comments are welcome!

And here's some more Bonairean wildlife for your viewing pleasure...

Are those brains leaking out of it?

I bet those are sharp...

Well, enough filling up the bandwidth for now... I can post more if there's interest.

looks good Roman.

my only comment is "get closer" :)

the first shot does look a little yellowish... but I'm at work on a crappy computer/monitor, so it might be me.

Which site did you see the frogfish?

Can you crop into your moray/graysby shot? I'd take equal amounts off the left side and the bottom and see how it holds together.

hmmmm.... now somebody could be taking my pic u/w, along with spectre and msilvia. I'll have to watch out. :)

These are your first u/w pictures? You did very well!

Thanks for the comments. Yeah, 1st time out. The crab does look a bit yellow, doesn't he? I'll play around with that. The frog was at Nearest Point, on Klein. The only one I saw on this trip.

Where did you get the picture of the Frogfish? It is still on Pearce's "list" for pix. And since we are going to be in Bonaire again in March, it would be great if you could share the location.

Those are very nice for your "first time". You're well on your way. I especially enjoyed those Octo pictures.

However, I did note that your "brains leaking out" pic didn't have enough light. Strobe misfire? Or just not close enough?

BTW, the "Squirel Fish" is actually a Glasseye Snapper. Doesn't diminish how great a picture it is, though! :clapping:

Good job.. keep it up!

The frogfish was at the Nearest Point, on the S.E. corner of Klein. It was pointed out by the DM (Luis from Toucan Diving); he knew exactly where to find it. Probably 3-5mins West of the buoy, somewhere between 30-50ft of water. Can't remember the exact depth, I'm afraid.

The "skull" was a feet below me, about 2ft across. The built-in strobe just wasn't powerful enough to light it up well.

I thought it wasn't a regular squirrel. Could not remember the exact name though, and he looked enough like a squirrel to probably be related :)

Hello,

One of the key elements needed for great photo's is LOCATION!

I have to disagree with raxafarian. I would suggest getting farther away from the subject.
