Will anyone be around this weekend? I will be at SandDollar with my wife and sister in law, and I was just wondering if anyone from the board will be in Bonaire, staying anywhere close.

BTW, Does anyone know the current scoop on any known places for Froggies/Seahorses on Bonaire? Is there anything at Bari currently? This is probably a little premature since I'm not leaving for another two months, but I'm anxious. Cold water diving kinda sucks when it's 90* out.

As of early Aug there were 3 on Bari all at around 40 ft. One yellow, one red and one gray. The red and gray were within arms length of each other and it was fairly easy to find their location.....location mind you, seeing them was a totally different matter. I never did find that %^@!!! yellow one. :)

your dive shop will give you the scoop when you get there. Since the frogfish and seahorses are big attractions in Bonaire, all the DMs keep track of where they are spotted daily.
Also, when you see other divers, just ask them! Every day we had divers tell us as we were gearing up at a dive site, what they found and where. Divers love to share! Don't be afraid to ask any diver about what they saw on a dive site! :D

BTW, Herman, the little one is the male and the big one is the female. Whenever you find a frogfish it will most likely be a female (much larger than males) so keep looking around in the area. There may be a male close by!

I think that we will just miss you. We are staying at Den Laman from Nov 15 - 30. BDA is the dive op for both Sand Dollar and Den Laman.

Best bet is to talk with Jerry Ligon at BDA. He is the resident naturalist. Both my wife and I took the Dive With the Naturalist session with him and it was well worth it. If anyone knows where the Froggies/Seahorses are on Bari reef, it will be him.

Danggitt, robin, I'm trying to do some cyber diving here, and you're ruining it!!!

I can't exactly ask the people getting out of the water right now seeing as I'm not in Bonaire, so this is the next best thing. Leave me my small joys.

We've had a couple classes with Jerry last time we were there. He is really great. Unfortunately we are going to miss Benji this year. He is going to the GUE IDC in Florida for ten days during our stay.

PS I like your ticker...

Hey b1g, just saw your post, I arrive on the 16th at Sand Dollar and will just miss you. Can't wait to dive Bari again, please post a report and give me a heads up when you get back where to find the critters.

Thanks, Patrick
