Oh well. It wasn't the one. I knew it was a long shot but it was fun to think I might see it again! I imagine mine is well crusted over with coral. Now that I'm mostly over the loss I think it's fitting. Thanks everyone for all of your effort! That was amazing!

I still hope one day it is found. May take some muriatic acid to clean it up. Not sure what that does to metal though. Oops! Google says a bad idea: What Happens When You Put Gold in Muriatic Acid?. Okay, something else then that doesn't react with gold.

Here they recommend vinegar: Can I Clean Gold With Hydrochloric Acid?I think that may be putting melted gold in HCl. In melted gold, it will react with the impurities. I don' think it will harm "solid" gold or diamonds.
