Our flights are booked also, but they just suck! Gotta 3 hr drive each way to Detroit because we miss the Immigrations window at ATL by 10 minutes coming back!

Can you explain what the immigration window is?
Just trying to figure out if it's something that would also affect our plans.

You need to allow x amount of time to clear customs in Atl before your next flight. Since Atl is our final stop I'm not sure about the time you need.

It's auto-correct via Tapatalk 2, figure it out. :D

When it's considered "international" travel, you have to go thru immigrations when you arrive at the first US destination (in this case, ATL). The airlines require a minimum of 90 minutes for immigration process ing. The flight from Bonair must arrive in ATL 90 minutes before the departing flight. We miss the 90 minute window by 10 minutes so either we fly out of Detroit or if we fly out of Flint, we have to spend the night in Detroit because there is not a flight from ATL to Flint that fits within the immigration guidelines.

Read some stuff on WWW.fodor.com that said, (1) airlines should not book connecting flights that do not allow sufficient time for customs, (2) 2 hours seems to be a comfortable margin.

Hey Gary,
Got any connections to get us a G5 out of ATL. We'll split the $$$. :D

Well it looks like we got lucky, we have over 130 minutes between flights and there's a back up flight that leaves an hour after that.

Thanks for the heads up.
