Never having been to Bonaire I'm not sure what the shore diving from the resort will be like and/or how much truck usage to expect or require. Cindy and I would be willing to pitch in on a piece of a truck so we could visit other sites. My ignorance of the island prevents me from arranging a truck myself.

Bonaire really prides itself on its shore diving. You just drive and look for a yellow rock. I'm sure we could find a map on the internet listing all the dive sites around Bonaire. The side we're on is the easy side of the island. The other side is the "wild side"... You could dive for weeks without hitting the same site twice...

One of the problems while I was down there about 6 years ago... we were warned about people breaking into the trucks... the recommendation was ... leave truck unlocked... take everything with you... or... leave someone with the truck... We took everything with us... and kept our license, credit card, and a few bucks in a waterproof box that we kept in our BCD.

BTW... the site in front of our resort is an awesome dive... We made a special trip from Buddy's to dive it.... So, I'm looking forward to several dives on the house reef.

Most of the dive sites around Bonaire have a very similar profile... It starts off flat... at about the 30' mark, it drops off to 130' real quick... It's not a wall... it's a nice slope... The reefs are beautiful... things to look for... chain morays... the tarpon are amazing during night dives... If you get a chance to do a night dive at the city pier... do it... (costs extra)...

My wife and I were in Bonaire this past January and had a great time. If we can find the finances and get the time off from work to get out there again and meet all you folks from SB, we totally will. It sounds like it will be a blast. I hope we can join the fun!

I just talked to Al @ Bay Adventures & Lynda & I are in. I booked flights yesterday and intended to go to the digital shootout that happens to be the same week, but changed my mind this morning (I wish they were back to back) We will have to be careful if aunt Sarah finds out we are on Bonaire and not staying with her, it will most likely hit the fan.

Absolutely DT#1 will reunite in Bonaire ( so far 5 of DT#1 have signed up )
All Dive teams stay together that's part of why Invaders return year after year.
