I wanted the answer to what I thought was a simple question - how much would it cost me to fly from Austin, TX, USA to Bonaire? Silly me, it seems I can't get there from here at any cost.

My airline of choice - Continental - as well as Travelocity and Expedia were of absolutely no help whatsoever in locating a single flight plan from here to either Bonaire or Curacao.

Ideas?

We flew to both on American -- the Bonaire flight was via San Juan and the Curacao flight was via Miami. Cheers!

Orbitz has prices from $661 to $742 round trip for whatever their default dates are.

Cheapest is Delta and it's two 2 stops: Atlanta and Montego Bay.

We always fly Delta from Hou to Atlanta and then on ALM direct to Bonaire. We have also flown Hou to Miami then ALM to Bonaire. depending on which one was cheaper at the time.

ALM? Been awhile? ;)

original poster -- I'm sure you can get there from Houston (drive there if you have to). I think Air Jamaica flies out of there.
Continental flies to Aruba - bonaire excel from there.

I checked Continental to Aruba, and in addition to being expensive, the return leg has an overnight layover in Newark, NJ! WTF is the deal with that?

Hope you're well. I went to Bonaire last year and was with someone from Fort Worth. The itinerary was DFW-San juan (very good duty free there i.e.: great prices, limited selection)-Bonaire. I don't know if that helps you at all. I have to warn you though, being the cozumelaholic that you are, I think you will find Bonaire a let down. I know that i will never return. Although cheap, the diving is all very similar and the reefs, imho, are not nearly in as good shape as coz. I won't insult the restaurants of coz by making a comparison.

This is the Air Jamaca flight. Delta and AJ code share. The first leg is Delta and the next 2 are AJ. We have the same thing out of Raleigh. It works great as you don't have to reclaim your bags on the outbound flight as Delta will transfer them to AJ for you.

Nothing like starting the morning with a fight.

There aint a restaraunt in "hey tourist - how about a t-shirt and Taco" Cozumel that compares with restaurants in Bonaire.

Diving's alright there if you want to go where the boat wants to go when it wants to go and never stop to see any thing.
