Bonaire is THE best!!!! We go every year for our anniverary in Sept. We stay at Den Laman & dive with Bonaire Dive & Adventure-Andre will take great care of you. We usually do all shore diving & love La Dania's Leap with a drift down to Karpata! Congrats on your nuptials & enjoy all your future adventures together. Leslie A.

I have to agree that if you're looking to go somewhere quiet (no hussle and bustle), very relaxing, with great (easy) diving, good food choices, beautiful scenery, and where you can dictate when you're doing to diving, etc., Bonaire is an excellent choice.

We found it to be extremely romantic, especially when we were sitting by the water enjoying dinner and a drink, watching the sunset. We also really enjoyed being able to do literally EVERYTHING on our own time schedule...when we got up, when we went to dive, when we wanted to boat dive, when we ate, etc., etc.

We stayed at Den Laman last year and will return for 2 weeks this year, but in a large ocean front 1-bedroom condo instead of a studio, and I can't wait. Den Laman is small (16 condos with full kitchens), on Bari Reef (super easy excellent diving), and has a very good restaurant on sight that provides room service.

However, if you want great beaches, casinos, nightclubs, and lots of topside activities, Bonaire won't be the best choice. In that case, you might want to look at Aruba instead.

Thanks for all the replies so far. We are not looking for any sort of nightlife excitement. Good diving, a decent place to stay and some privacy is all we really need.

If you really want privacy, another option for accommodations in Bonaire would be to rent a house. There are numerous rental agencies or use a site like VRBO, etc... We've rented houses twice and stayed at BelMar 3x and we were always extremely happy with our accommodations.
BTW, when we rented a house, we used Buddy Dive as our dive op. They have a drive-thru tank pick up that is very convenient.
