It's been a few years since we've dove Bonaire and are returning in two weeks. Last time we dove a couple days with Larry's Wild Side Diving. I understand he sold his boat and business. Is anyone operating charters on Bonaire's East side these days?

Contact Bas at BAS Diving

You will NOT regret it!! He's amazing to dive with, very knowledgeable about diving the East Side and will find you creatures you'd never find on your own!!

I'll be diving with him again in October. I can't wait!!!

The OP's question was about boat dives.
Bas is good; he does shore dives. Larry's boat was sold to the guys I gave the link to in post #2.

I've gone out with them a few times and they run the operation more or less identically to Larry. Gear up before departure from the dock, back roll off the boat on command, 45 minute drift dive, open water safety stop, rinse and repeat. Relatively pricey, but well worth it for a very different experience than the west side.

That's true and we enjoyed our dives with East Coast Diving several years ago. But I think it's also reasonable to let him know about other possibilities. Given the choice between boat or shore diving on the east coast, I'd pick shore again every time. If their diving experience and skills are up to it I highly recommend it.

Bas is not "good". Bas is outstanding!! He almost kept up with my dive time and I was on a rebreather. Over 2 hours out of an 80 on our second dive, and he was a busy tour guide, finding every possible fish in the water.

That being said, please disregard my advice. Bas doesn't have a boat. Don't waste your time :banghead:

Thanks tursiops. I'll check them out. While I like Bonaire beach diving, it's fun to mix it up a bit.

Not a waste. I'll check them out as well. Didn't know anyone else dove the East side. Thanks.

Wow, we just got back from Bonaire yesterday and I was already looking into Bonaire East Coast Diving for next time. I'm definitely going to the East Coast! My question was, why do they required a dive computer?

Speaking of boats, they have a Zodiac Hurricane 920, a custom built military RIB powered by two 250hp Yamaha outboard engines. Sounds like they are prepared!
