Seeing your video reminded me of a unique sighting at the base of the wall this last May. I'll share a photo, it's not great because I had a macro lens on, and the critter was too big for the lens, and of course a bit too far. In any case, it's an American Conger. I've never seen one before. It's about 5 to 6' long and moved very fast. It was probably 2AM when my wife and I ran into this one.
Great find! My guess is that it's probably a Manytooth Conger, which are occasionally spotted around Bonaire. The Antillean Conger, a.k.a. Grey Conger, also lives in these waters but generally prefers deeper water. I'm pretty sure the southernmost territory for the American Conger is the northern Gulf of Mexico. I'm insanely jealous. With 300+ hours of Bonaire bottom time I've never seen a Conger! (Not counting garden eels, which are also members of the Conger family.)
