Hello

I've been reading the board for a few weeks w/o posting, so i'll introduce myself : i'm 29, half french/spanish, about 200 dives (lots of deep diving as we like it in europe) and beginer in uw photography (with a Oly 5050). I'm finishing my doctor training in the hospital and graduated in hyperbaric medecine.

That said, here's my question

I'm planing a trip to bonaire, by myself, since none of my friends has holydays.

Is bonaire a friendly place for a single diver ?

I'm probably going to dive inn, is this a good choice ?

Any of you will be there during that period ? we could share some dives...

Thanks for reading

Alex

You should have a ball. You'll be right next door to the Divi. They have a nice sundeck where all the stewardesses from KLM sun all day. You're easy walkng distance to town for some nightlife. Have fun, dive hard. We'll be back on the island at the end of October. I'm diving a C-5050 as well.

Hi Alex,

Sure wish I could join you but I can't make it. I would suggest that you go over to the Bonaire board www.bonairetalk.com and ask around over there. There are others looking for buddies there from time to time. You should have no trouble finding a buddy. The biggest suggestion I have for you is to be considerate of your dive buddy. Photographers are for the most part poor buddies (myself included!!) when they are behind a camera. This is esp true of new photographers. We get so involved in our pictures that we forget where we are and who we are with. Let your new buddie know what you intend to do. If you can find another new photographer, all the better. Try sharing the dive...you take pictures the first half of the dive and him the second half or some similar arrangement. Both of you heading off chasing that great shot does not work that well. Enjoy Bonaire, I love the island.
