Hello,

We just came back from our first trip to Bonair. And can't stop but wondering, why we saw just a few ( actually only 2 during the week of diving ) lobsters ( but a really huge one ) and barracuda vs tons of the lobsters and barracudas on Cozumel. Even though this is the same Caribbean Sea, water temp seems to be same...
thank you.

Just got back from my first trip to Coz and I noticed several differences as well. Almost no eels (think I saw 3 or 4) in Coz. I am use to seeing eels everywhere and quite a few of them free swimming. The other difference I noticed was the huge angle fish. We see a few on Bonaire but not as many as on Coz. It may have something to do with the proxcimity to the mainland.

Second that.
But it's a channel and the current is pretty sttrong and consistent, so it should not (?) affect the difference so much ... // I 'm guessing obviously.

We can add, that the only place where we saw "Bonair size" ( huge ) parrot fish in around Cozumel was Xel-Ha where they are fed by the tourists.

Just got back for Coz myself, and what I thought was strange was that we saw very few morays on the boat dives, but the little patchwork reef just outside the hotel (Caribe Blu, shore dives) was littered with them. Hummm....

too many boats diving too few reefs. eels migrated to safer grounds :)
