Why would anyone start a dive at 3:30am?

LIHUE, Hawaii (KHON2) — The Kaua’i Police Department and other agencies found the body of the missing man in the waters off of Nawiliwili shores in Lihue.

According to KPD, a 28-year-old man went missing after diving into the waters around 3:30 a.m., on Friday, April 15.

Police, firefighters, lifeguards, and the U.S. Coast Guard began their search using helicopters and rescue boats.

At around 6:00 a.m., a body was retrieved by the Coast Guard helicopter 50 to 60 yards off the shore of Nawiliwili. The man was transported to the Coast Guard station nearby where medics relieved the crew who had recovered the man, according to KPD.

KPD said resuscitation efforts were continued as he was transported to Wilcox Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at around 7:45 a.m.

The identity of the man has not yet been revealed. Police are investigating.

Why would anyone start a dive at 3:30am?

Jet lag? Tidal change? Specific marine life at that time? Slipped into the water? Had a bit too much drinks at happy hour?
