Anyone been to Blue Springs lately? I am heading up there this weekend for a scavenger hunt and my wife might join be if the conditions are decent.

Myself, ICUROK and Ray werner were there a few weeks ago. The vis was pretty good and I got some good video of some of the attractions. I still would rather be up at the Straits of Mackinac but for a local dive it was decent. How did your trip go?

Conditions were decent for a quarry. its was rather warm above 25 feet. I think about 85-90 degrees. Below the thermocline it was i think in the 60's. Not sure though since my dive computer got recalled and the loaner is kind of a POS. I would like to go back and see more. My wife was too cold below the thermo cline to really see anyting so we found what we had to find and got out. Should be really nice in say september or october when the algae begins to die out.

Glad to hear you had a good time. I personally am wanting to get back up to Gilboa in a bad way. I think were going to get a small group together here in the next couple of weeks. We almost made it to Mermett springs quarry last weekend but I already had plans to head up to Chicago for a Jimmy Buffet concert. Was a good time. The only problem with Blue springs is the vis most of the time and the shallow conditions.

Happy diving to ya

....Jeff. If you want to take a little time to meet with us and make a dive or two, you are certainly welcome. I'll have some venison chili going on the fire for between the dives and cold drinks in brown bottles for after the dive day is over....

Hello Tom

I might just do that. I need to get away and do some diving. Is your group camping out for the weekend? I will let you know what I decide. Thanks for the invite.

Yeah, my partner Dave and I are coming down in my pickup, hauling my 21' 5th wheel trailer. That means all the comforts of home, like hot and cold running water, stove and oven (microwave if I can get a site with some power on it), refrigerator/freezer, lights, soft beds and a 'very small' bathroom. That also means a roll out awning, and a place to kick back, even if the weather turns bad. I can't wait! We have a couple others that are saying they will meet us there. Scubapunk from Canada and a couple others perhaps. You certainly are welcome! I'm bringing a large pot of venison chili to share, and will have my cooler full of cold ones for after the days diving is over.

Hope you can make it!
