Hello every one one My buddy and I are thinking of going diving next week end(24Feb-26Feb), I am just wondering what the water is like this time of year? and any other needed info I might need would be great.

Water is around 73* and three weeks ago vis was about 15'.

If you have never been before, there are no facilities there, take your own water to drink, an ice fishing tent works really well for staying out of the breeze and cold for changing. I like to get there early on Saturday and Sunday to miss the rush in case a lot of divers show up for classes. A couple stores from Idaho frequent BL as well as stores from Utah. Lock anything of value up, there have been some reports of theft but that was months ago. Bring some snacks for the fish and you’ll be a lake favorite.

What to see. The platform, marked by a buoy on your left, has tow rope lines leading to different features. One leads you to a small boat lying on the bottom. There is a small guide line from there that takes you to a metal sculpture of a shark.
The other line from the platform leads to a larger boat standing vertical on its stern. A metal sculpture of a pray mantis is close by along with an older row boat that is nearly covered in silt. If you tie a line off from the boat and continue in the direction of the guide line you should fine the turtle and a very large hot pot, maybe 40 feet out.

You’ll see another buoy straight out from the dock about 100 yards, that is the area of the rino and bi-plane sculpture and some large hot pots. Take a compass heading back to your entry (204* IIRC) and you navigate over valleys of hot pots.
The other buoy just off the dock is tied to another smaller platform. There is a guide line running between the two platforms at 20 feet.

Have a good time.

If any one would like to Join in every one is welcome, I think we are going Thurs(23Feb) afternoon sleep in wendover and then hit the lake Friday morning.
