We went over to Blue Hole yesterday... lots more divers than we expected but vis was still pretty good for a Sunday. At least, on the first dive, the vis was good! I swam past the Venus statue and she was in a new place, not the same as in my video from a few weeks ago, but still upright about 10' away next to a group of rocks. Two large groups were there diving, most of them beginners but I did see some people down on the bottom stirring things up in a bad way.
Well, on our second dive Venus wasn't there... vis was horrible, like 10-15' at best due to the bozos bouncing around on bottom. Uggghhh!!! And then I found her face down in middle of hole, like someone had tried to move her or lift her with a bag or something and dropped her. She was still whole, but .... WTF? :depressed: There was also some guys with a hook-like thing, maybe a small boat anchor, on a rope that came dropping down and swinging by me while I was on my safety stop. WTF? :shocked2: I don't know who they were, but that should NOT be allowed in BH. Ever.
