I was wondering ,if anyone knows what the Story is with diving Regulations at the Blue Heron Bridge site are right now?I used to go there with students and was told last week, not to dive anymore under the big Bridge. Some other divers have been taken out of the water by a sheriff and Park Ranger.I hope that this is not a permanent Issue ,it would be a shame if we couldnt go there anymore ,because this is one of the few sites where you can always go,regardless of Ocean conditions!Does anybody know whats going on ,i appreciate any input, thanks :06:

Wow, this is news to me. I dive that area at least twice a week, but I've been land bound for a week now. That would be horrible if we couldn't dive there anymore. That is our prime time check out site for students. I'll be tapping my fingers anxiously waiting for more info on this one too.
I know there's a sign there that says no diving, swimming and something else, I just figured it was for liability reasons, seeing how there's a lifeguard on duty. I hope someone can clear this up. I do have the phone number to the lifeguard station, I’ll try to call them tomorrow after the storm clears up and see if they know anything.

This could be better researched in the Florida forum, you reckon...?

Have you thought that maybe it is Homeland Security related?? Just a quick guess. Any locals with better info?

good guess, but I highly doubt it. Nothing worth terrorizing there. Unless you wanted to blow up fishermen.

I was there at the end of July and there were lots of divers in the water.

when was this alleged incident?

Or really wanted to deprive the Republicans from 27 electoral votes. :D

I think it has to do with the fishermen that flock the pier, but like Don said, this thread belongs in the Florida Conch Divers forum. Ask scubakevdm.
