We had a bike taxi guy... Turtle Town Transfer Co doing this during the Ultimate Diver Challenge, but I did not get the impression many of the BHB divers wanted to pay even a couple dollars for the service.Who is providing the shuttle service from the ocean mall to the BHB?
Tourism will cause the County to take great pains to protect the resource so the dive tourism can flourish--meaning the marine life beauty we now have will never be allowed to be lessened. Dive Instruction on the other hand, is clearly counterproductive to the ecology, and brings no new money into the county to speak of.. I know dive instruction is there to stay, but dropping a hundred zero skilled divers on top of nudi-world for them to go roto-tilling, is not on the same plane as dropping 100 world traveled divers over the same area.I wonder about the critters in the "relatively low life density sands" area but I guess they will have to adapt like any other man made dumping.
Helping tourism at BHB isn't something I see as a good thing speaking as a "local" but I'm sure the area will recover, from the boulders anyway if not increased dive pressures. Considering the time and effort put into this I would rather have seen it applied to making the area an official marine sanctuary/no take zone with actual enforcement. My 2 cents.

We can have a solution, whether it is Turtletown, or a more standard Taxi service, but it will have to cost something....
Any suggestions? There are plenty of willing shuttle services, but they all work for at least tips....

Scott,That's not surprising. Divers are already avoiding boat charter costs by diving at BHB. Let them off-load their equipment on site, park and walk then...
Sandra is going too....she just loaded up her car....BHB This Morning! Been years for me, can't wait to get in the water and start shooting.
