Hi,

I was wondering if anybody could help. I am planning a trip to Cabo and have been looking around for a good DC, I have heard that Blue Adventures are ok, but would like to hear from somebody who has dived with them.
Also any other recommendations with diving and staying in Cabo would be great.
Where is the best place/time to see hammerheads, and can you still dive with the sea lions?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Yes, I dove with them last week in Cabo San Lucas and I would recommend them. I also went to Cabo Pulmo with them. I did a total of 8 dives--four in Cabo san Lucas, two at Cabo Pulmo and two in LaPaz between October 8 to 13, 2009. In Cabo San Lucas I stayed at the Mar de Cortez and the Siesta Suites and would recommend them both for their location and good value. In LaPaz I stayed at the Casabuena bed and breakfast and would recommend them. I had a bad experience with the dive shops I dealt with in LaPaz, but the diving at the Sealion colony in LaPaz was very enjoyable. I am attaching a link to the pictures that I took. Enjoy!

Hi Alex,
Check out Deep Blue and Manta Divers. We dove in late September with Deep Blue. A good outfit. If I had it to do over I'd probably go with Manta because they've got a big boat that doesn't required seated backroll entries (I'm not the most graceful diver!).

Saw sea lions on every dive - especially Land's End between the bay and the Pacific. The DM told us not to engage them or even make eye contact which was disappointing, but apparently they can be dangerous even though they're just "playing." We even saw sea lions swimming between the boats in the marina. It was such a treat.

My husband took a day trip to Gordo Banks in the hopes of seeing the hammerheads. I think Gordo Banks is the spot. Low visibility, bad currents, depth to 130 and didn't see anything, unfortunately.

We stayed at a great little place in town called The Bungalows. It's not on the water so you'll either have to rent a car or walk the 10-15 minutes to the marina. The plus is that the place is small, quiet, and rustic. Plus, the manager Eric went above and beyond - everyday - to make sure we were happy. I've never experienced that level of customer service. And, the cost can't be beat - $149.99 a night for a two-bedroom bungalow that includes homemade breakfast each day. Green apple cinnamon waffles, frittatas, papaya pancakes, breakfast burritos, etc. Wonderful place if you don't mind a smaller more family-type environment.

I'd also suggest a trip to Cabo Pulmo. That was my favorite diving.

Hello Divers.I have been Diving Cabo for years and have found Baja Dive provides the best service. There is always safty gear on board. They always group the Divers according to there level so you will not be held up or holding up the group. They have Two boats and private Trips are available. Also all the gear is in good shape they also take extra gear on the boat.

Hi all. I have Dove with Blue Adventures and Did not like anything about them.First the shop manager was Drunk when I checked in.Then when we boarded the boat it was not the boat on there web site but an old party barge that was small and over loaded with very little shade. The Dive Master was a smart ass and could not control the oversized group loseing two Divers on the the first Dive. When one of them came up to fast and asked if there was C02 onboard there was not.
I did find out later that the owner does not live in Cabo so there is not much control over the operation.

I've dove with Manta Divers a couple of years in a row and have a great time. Gordo Banks is where you want to go to see hammerheads (we went a little early and didn't see any) and Cabo Plumo is a must (we DID see a tiger there!)

Here's my trip report: cabo

Hi All, I just returned from Cabo.We Dove with a shop called Blue Adventures. This must have been my worst experence ever.First the Boat on the web site is NOT there Dive Boat a nice 50 foot Boat. There boat was a small boat with no thank racks all gear was piled up on the floor making it very hard to move and get Dressed. The small ladders were almost impossable to use.We had to Dive novice Divers that were limited to 65 feet when they ran out of air we had 1700psi left but the Dive master made the group come up.We ask for Dive master who could take us on a real Dive But they said they had only one So we were forced on a shallow Dive again and returned with half a Tank.
The Water was warm vis. about 35 feet lots of Fish. We saw a Sea Horse,Turtle and lots of eels,Lobster. All and all The Diving in Cabo was good seeing how a storm had just passed.

I also booked our dive trips for 2 days with Blue Adventures. Our dive guide was Umberto, really nice guy...no complaints. I highly recommend Cabo Pulmo dive which we went on our 2nd day, Oct 1st. It was amazing.

I wish I had an underwater camera. Joe - Thanks for posting your amazing pictures. What camera do you use? I would love to buy one for our next dive trip.
