I haven't tried a membrane yet, but boy do the sticks seem hoaky! And O2 wastefull. Given O2 is pretty cheap $40 for a big tank of aviator, I think we were getting 20 aluminum 80s filled at 32 on a single tank. I would like to try the membrane, maybe one day Ill invest in a good compressor at home...

Wastefull? You must be thinking partial pressure blending. You can drain an O2 tank using stick and considering how cheap and easy it is to do it yourself, I don't see any advantages to membrane. Stick is where you bleed O2 off your O2 tank into the compressor intake at the rate needed to get the desired mix. Basically you need a simple welding regulator on the O2 tank to control the flow and the "stick" which is just something that makes sure the air and the O2 are well mixed.
