Can anyone direct me to website or email me the file of the newstory for the how the Department of Transportation tried to get rid of the beached whale carcass. This event happened 20 years ago. I need the video to teach a safety course. My email is al_lee_2000@yahoo.com. Thanks.

Welcome to the board!

I'm also here in Oregon... and it seems like I remember hearing about a whale that was "Blown up" somewhere over on the Coast... and a large chunk of blubber totaled a car out in the parking lot. I'm curious if this is the same incident, and if the "Totaled Car" thing was real... (Seems like I heard it on the "Paul Harvey" show.)

I remember going over to Coos Bay and playing on a secluded beach with my Wife and Kids. The kids found something large that was covered in sea weed... and was unrecognizable. So... what do the kids do?... They climbed up on it and started playing around.

As I approached it, I noticed that this "Rock Looking Thingy" looked kinda like a whale from a distance. Well... when I got close... the smell told me the whole story. It WAS a dead whale! (I guess you could call it "small" because it was only about the size of a Suburban Vehicle.) The kids smelled terrible all the way home!

Have e a great day!

Good Lord. I always assumed that was an urban ledgend, or at least I had hoped it was. I assumed that people wouldn't be THAT stupid. What did they THINK was going to happen?! It's a good thing nobody met the same fate as that car.

They really expected seagulls and crabs to clean up the mess?! :wtf:

I am always impressed with the scope of information one can obtain from this website!
