Ok then thanks for the input... Guess I'm going solo on this trip, had a friend who might want to come along but she was concerned about this so sounds like she was right...

On a side note what's Blackbeard's policy on solo diving :)

As previously indicated, unless your partner is into drinking unlimited Kalik beer all day there is little to do for the non-diver. A few stops and dive sites are o.k. for snorkeling/free diving but most are not.

However, BB is a great single diver trip. Because there is no private cabins there are no upcharges for being a single diver. I went on a trip earlier this year by myself and had a great time. Met several others who had also came alone so I was never short a dive buddy. At the trip info meeting they stress you must always dive with a buddy but don't seem to enforce it. Also, when you call for reservations they will look over the rosters to find a trip that has more buddyless divers if that is a concern. Go for it and have a good time. I hoping to go again soon myself.

Hi Kerry,

Many non-diver's enjoy themselves onboard Blackbeard's, however if you are looking for the whole package and star accomodations, then Aqua Cat is a fantastic choice.
In addition to world class diving throughout the Exumas and Nassau areas, we offer non diving excursions nearly every dive. The Sea Dog is our 28' launch that is dedicated to escorting our guests to beaches for sunbathing, beach combing, sunbathing, and touring the Exuma Land and Sea Park. Some of many adventures include fishing, lobstering, snorkeling, visiting the endagered Rock Iguanas on Allen Cay, and kayaking gorgeous mangroves. Non divers will of course always have the option of participating in a 'Discover Scuba' course onboard.
Reach our helpful sales staff for more fun ideas or to answer questions 888.327.9600. Hope to see you soon!

I'll second that. I took my non-diving spouse on Aquacat last June and she absolutely loved it! I've also been on Blackbeards which, as noted, doesn't cater to non-divers like Aquacat does.
Same owners, both operations.

Here's your decision tree:
a) Blackbeards: $1,200pp (with tips, fuel, port fees, etc.)
b) Aquacat: $2,400pp (same)
c) Keeping your significant other happy: Priceless.

One option is to go alone on Blackbeards and take her to a resort on your next trip -- where there is diving, of course. That way you'll end up spending the same amount of money overall -- BUT you get to dive twice!

Thanks for all the info.. I've booked a blackbeard's trip on Feb 14th for just me... the non-diver was a friend not SO.. My SO was a diver and would have loved it... unfortunately she is not with us anymore.. my friend was just wondering if it was worth coming along and decided not to this time..

Anyone else there on the 14th-20th of Feb??
