search->advanced search in the text box put in "diamond crotch" (without quotes), let it search entire posts and limit the search to this forum.

I got about a dozen hits. I bet this has already been answered.

Roak

Yup. Tried it. No details but I found two people who say they have it. I PM them two days ago but no reply yet.

Hop someone can help. I will be making it myself (not that its rocket science) I just cant figure out how it attaches on the rear of the BC.

I have a Black Diamond. I don't have a crotch strap, but I see that there's a 1" wide nylon loop at the back bottom. Cheapest way would be to use a short aluminum rod and bend it into a d-ring. Least amount of work would be to use a locking link - looks a lot like a chain link but has a threaded collar on one side. If you can't find one of those, you could use a small carabiner - doesn't have to be climbing quality. I've gotten some really cheap ones that come in a 3-pack for about $1.50. Eventually the springs will rust through, but at that price, oh well.

I thought of that. Even a split ring would work. The strap would then form a v from the center of the rear to the two snaps on the front left and right. (Are these called tri-glides?) Problem with this is the strap is free to move throught the split ring. I guess I could sew it in place at the back. Would really like to know what the original accessory looks like and how they attach it.

If I don't get any feedback soon I will just do it this way and let you k now how it feels.

There is also a small ring on the front center of the BC. Do you know what this is for?

I don't see that as a problem, since it would be anchored at both of the endpoints.

That's for a jon line.

I did a search and couldn't find a picture of the crotch strap. Got sidetracked for a bit because body stockings come up in the same search. Anywhere I saw the BC, "Webbing loops for optional crotch strap" are listed as a feature - did you notice that there are loops on the fronts just like the one that's at the rear? I would be willing to bet that the official one is much like your V, but attaches at those three straps.

I did see another brand of BC that had a very simple single length of strap going from the back to the front. It claimed to have neoprene padding in the middle, but I couldn't see any in the picture.

Are you doing this because it annoys you at the surface? I had to go with the large because the medium was just a little bit too small, so mine fits me loosely, but I found that it doesn't ride up if I fasten the cummerbund snugly. If I'm on the surface for much time I usually float on my back anyway.

I have owned a few BCs over the last year and came across a perfect combo for my Black Diamond as a crotch strap. I used a croth strap from Triple L that I purchased with an Orion I bought from them. The D rings along the bottom of the Black Diamond line up perfect with the split saddle crotch strap that Triple L makes. Best of all, I think they are only $3 but I believe a few months back the amount of money you had to pay for the strap to have it shipped was more than the strap itself:( Mine works perfectly and is completely adjustable. www.triple-l.biz.

Make sure you click on their online store icon as that is where you will find it. Only $3.50.

Thnaks to both of you.
Immersed: I need it at the surface because I teach and spend a lot of time at the surface and the BC rides up on me. Need to be vertical to be talking to the students.

I will take a look at the website. Thanks.

perfect. Those webbing loops are exactly the same on the Dacor sportster BC's that I just purchased for students. They came with the connections into tri glides. I can use those so they will snap in the front and the rear.
