Holland & Barrett will continue to sell shark cartilage due to customer demand, until such time that the species is classed as an endangered species.

What responsible stewardship. Bravo, H&B, bravo.

This is the ICUN's RED LIST from the SPECIES SURVIVAL COMMISSION. It is an interesting read on the data on every known shark and ray species. However, due to the rareity of some species and their sitings, it is hard to determine where that species is in the scheme of things.

Also know, that mercury levels are increasing in all species of sharks, some over 60 times higher than safe levels for human consumption. It is amazing how these companies say that sharks are good for humans and that it will make them healthy.

Keep fighting the good fight people! Support the organizations that are fighting for the survival of sharks!

PS: This is the 2007 list, the 2008 list will be available soon.
