The wife and I are going to Bimini at the end of the month. Has anyone dived there before? If so, what are the better dives. We are scheduled for 6-7 dives already including a night dive. We are going through a LDS with a group and they say that the capt. of the boat is open to suggestions are far as dive locations. Any help would be great. Thanks, Fred

it all depends on what you like, deep, shallow, reef or wreck. you have them all there and needless to say, some are better than others. i have been there several times and love it, i will go back.

the Sopano is a neat 15' dive. its an old concrete ship that has many fish on it. even though its only in 15' of water, the current can be strong at times so be careful and dont get pulled or pushed into it. if you get outside of the boat, about 5 to 10 feet on the opposite side from Bimini and dig around you can find rounds that were fired at the ship during practice.

Victory reef was one of the most beautiful reef dives that i have done there. its a very large reef and you cant dive all on one dive. it goes from about 35 feet down to 75 feet if i remember right.

Tuna Alley was another great dive. the Bimini Barge is a good deep dive, between 90 and 100 feet.

all of these you can look up using Google.com if you want to see them. i hope yall have a fun, safe trip and enjoy all your dives.

Thanks for the info Steve. The wife and I are looking forward to the trip. I'll let everyone know how things are upon the return.

One of the best dives I have ever done, ever, was off Bimini, right offshore, (on the windward side near that giant rusty wreck) and I'll be damned if I can remember the which one it was. Sorry. It was small and shallow (~40', max) and close to the island, and packed to the gills with amazing scenery.

Fred, Bimini Undersea lists some of their more popular dive sites online. I'd also suggest checking out their site. Melanie, BU's senior Instructor/Captain, has been there for 9 years and knows more about those sites and the sealife there that just about anyone on the island. Have a great time! I'm headed there in July!

It's Sapona, not Sopano.
