I took this lobster while free-diving in about 25-30' of water off Cohasset. After the surprise wore off that it was not a v-notch or an egger, it took some careful gauging to determine that the bug was legal by about 1/16". As a rule I only take big females for special occasions.

John that's a nice size one. what was the special occasion? Also, it's nice to see a face to go with the name...

yak:
Nice one John.

So, did you boil it or BBQ it? (I'm always looking for bug receipes)

It was boiled for a while and then thrown on the grill (one of my buddies is a cook).

boiled? hummm, I recommend always steaming lobsters. Any reason your chef friend didnt steam this one?

nice pickup while freediving, however. I also do a bit of "snorkeling" and boy it makes it a lot harder to get them buggers for sure.

I usually steam them as well. I'm not sure why he didn't steam and if it had anything to do with it's size.
