Once you have done with the toothpaste.... by the way....only use the one color paste...not the multiple...or the ones with granules in it...will scratch...

where was I...oh yea.....take some baby shampoo and mix with water...and flush inside of mask...swish around...pour out....DO NOT wipe out....just let dry and next time you dive just dunk mask once...shake...and youre ready

Hit it with the tooth paste twice - once normally is not enough. And be very careful to scrub all the parts of the lens.

The water/baby shampoo mix thing works. You can usually do this at the start of a dive day and not have to reapply the defog all day.

Having more than enough gear to tote already though I just use spit. Works very well and nobody ever asks to use your mask. I do advise not eating doritos immediately before the dive however, as that makes you not want to use your mask.

I'll see your two and raise you. We recommend three times with SeaBuff on both sides of the mask, with a good rinse in between each application. Note that my LDS provides a free bottle of SeaBuff with the mask, so we are not saying this to sell SeaBuff.

Toothpaste works just as well, imho.

Is Seabuff any different than the other defoggers out there? And are you saying this replaces the toothpaste?

SeaBuff is different than defoggers; however, the same company that makes SeaBuff makes a defogger called SeaDrops.

SeaBuff is specifically used to remove the release agent in a new mask.

Toothpaste could take the place of SeaBuff.

Toothpaste will have to do then, as I'm off for the trip at 6:30 tomorrow morning. Thanks for the advice to all.
