I've ordered the
HyperWhistle and the
Fox 40 Sonik Blast CMG. I'll do some tests/comparisons when I have both. The Hyper claims 142db and the Fox 40 120db.
The Fox 40 gets one point for coolest name....
The HyperWhistle claims to work underwater and I'm curious about how useful that might be. From a quick search it appears that if you can generate a loud enough sound it will travel further in water than in air. If a whistle works underwater, maybe it could be a useful emergency signal with the understanding that someone would listen underwater in case of a lost diver. Maybe the reduced wind/wave noise below the surface would result in more effective signal distance.
